Charlie vs Goliath is a feature-length documentary about an ordinary man’s extraordinary struggle to shake up the political establishment. It would be hard to find a more unlikely candidate than Charlie Hardy, a 75-year-old penniless former Catholic priest who spent nearly a decade serving the poor while living in a cardboard shack in a Venezuelan slum. In 2011, Charlie returns to his hometown of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is shocked to see poverty, hunger and homelessness.
Fast Break: The Legendary John McLendon - The story of Coach McLendon's life and the effect he had on the black basketball player. From integrating the sport to changing the way the game would forever be played after, John McLendon is the "inventer of modern-day" basketball. John McLendon was just added to the hall of fame in September. It is a story whose time has come. Directed by Kevin Willmott.
MOUSSE - What could be easier than robbing a small bookie place on the outskirts of town? It’s during the year’s biggest horse race event and the betting center Washington’s Tobacco looks like the ultimate hit for some fast cash. Mousse is a man of pride and principles and is fed up with living as a second-class citizen. But what happens when he faces principles different to his own? Directed by John Hellberg
Raise The Toy Gantic - This Ken-Burns-meets-Waiting-For-Guffman-style comic mockumentary follows the history of the ToyGantic, an ominously named toy luxury ocean-liner built in 1962. When a present-day picnicker finds a shipwreck of a ToyGantic on the bottom of a Kansas lake, he launches a cross-country quest to find the quixotic toymaker who crafted the toy, the perverse company that released it, the kids who once owned it, and what has since become of the lives of everyone involved with the doomed toy.
M.T. Liggett (Grassroots artist from Mullinville, KS) & Selected Shorts - Short films from Kansas and across the globe will be screened during this 90 minute segment.
